a tale of two tower blocks

England has a deep and dangerous housing crisis. The worst of the problems are summed up by two towerblocks.

One is an architectural masterpiece in a very poor bit of east London. It's sitting half empty after its social housing tenants were kicked out around a decade ago.

The other is Grenfell Tower where at least 72 people died after a fire swept through the building. Tenants had repeatedly warned the authorities that the block was a death-trap. But cost cutting, an obsession with cutting regulation and simple greed meant they were ignored.
