The state of British iconic red pillar Royal Mail post boxes paints an telling picture of the government's tortured, subservient relationship with big business.
The Liberal Democrats were back in government after decades in 2010 as part of a coalition with the right wing Conservative Party.
But it was the more moderate free market-friendly Lib Dems who championed the sell off of Royal Mail.
What ensued was a disaster with international companies taking dividends and letting the service wither.
Meanwhile, the Post Office, the delivery arm of the mail service pursued innocent franchise holders into prison sentences and even suicide wrongfully accusing thousands of theft.
